Omnicom Q4 Net Declines 2.1%

Omnicom Group said fourth-quarter net income declined 2.1 percent to $300.5 million from $307.1 million in the 2012 period. Global revenue in the quarter rose 2.9 percent to $4.1 billion. Expenses related to Omnicom’s proposed merger with Publicis Groupe hit the bottom line, with the U.S. holding company taking $13.3 million in fourth-quarter, pre-tax charges related to the transaction.   Organic growth in the quarter rose 4.2 percent. Latin America led regional growth, with fourth-quarter revenue up 18.1 percent; followed by Asia Pacific, which increased 10.1 percent; North America, 3.2 percent; Europe, 2.6 percent; and Africa and the Middle East, 1.1 percent. For the full year, net income declined to $991.1 million from $998.5 million. Global revenue in 2013 increased 2.6 percent to $14.6 billion.
