An official EU report published Monday says corruption affects all member countries of the European Union and costs the bloc at least 120 billion euros ($162 billion) annually. She said the amount lost annually would be enough to fund the Union’s yearly operating budget.
This past Sunday’s Super Bowl (XLVIII) was one to remember with various highlights and lows that happened throughout the whole duration. With many so concentrated on the different teams’ performances, along with the commercials, the music of the Super Bowl helps create the explosive atmosphere of this once-a-year event. The American National Anthem is also one of the pieces performed during the Super Bowl that helps set the tone for the whole event, and this year, it was performed by well-known opera singer Renée Fleming.
Esurance definitely pulled off a last-second marketing coup at the close of last night's Super Bowl, but now spammers are seizing the moment, as well.
Tumblr announced that users can now enable SSL security. This comes after Yahoo announced late last year that it would encrypt all info that moves between its data centers by the end of the first quarter.
Enabling the option isn’t exactly encrypting all data, but at least it’s a start for the massively popular blogging service. The Tumblr staff blog says:
Neil Gaiman has been responsible for–or had a part of–so many incredible things that it’s nearly impossible not to admire him. From writing comics to penning children’s books and wondrous novels (“Coraline”, “American Gods”, The Sandman, and “The Ocean At The End Of The Lane”, to name a few), he’s proven over the years that he’s as cool as they come. Google announced that it has launched Google Now notifications in Chrome beta.

Katie Couric is finally talking about when she’ll marry her fiancé John Molner.
Couric attended Howard Stern’s 60th birthday bash at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Friday night. When the outspoken, often controversial shock jock asked when she and Molner would tie the knot, Couric answered “Summer!”
In retrospect, it was over before it started, but Super Bowl XLVIII still managed to draw more viewers than any other broadcast in U.S. television history. According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, Fox’s Super Bowl broadcast delivered an average 111.5 million viewers, besting the previous record holder set by NBC in 2012 by the slimmest of margins.
