Put together by Internet funny guy Jason A. Messina, the ad riffs on medication advertising's tone and imagery (lots of hikers in those ads) alongside the pervasive social pressure to settle down and procreate by the time one hits 30. The temptation to be a smug, overbearing asshole about major life decisions cuts both ways, though, which Messina doesn't ignore.

Today, the Alliance for Audited Media released its consumer magazine circulation data for the second half of 2013, and once again, the narrative remains the same. Overall circulation remained relatively flat versus the year-ago period (declining of about 1.7 percent), with newsstand sales continuing their steep decline (dropping 11 percent) and digital editions up sharply (36.7 percent) but making up just 3.5 percent of total circulation. All numbers are preliminary and subject to audit.

Maxim is out; a gun magazine is in.American Rifleman, one of the magazines that members of the National Rifle Association can receive as part of their membership, posted a 29.3% boost in circulation in the second half of last year, compared with the second half of 2012, according to new numbers released Thursday by the Alliance for Audited Media, which tracks magazine circulation.
