Disney’s Oscar-nominated, massively popular “Frozen” soundtrack is still the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 94,000 copies last week, for a total of four weeks now spent at the top position. It is with much regret that we relay the Associated Press’s report that Maxine Kumin, Pulitzer Prize winner and onetime poetry consultant to the Library of Congress has died at the age of 88.
Born Maxine Winokur in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 1925, Kumin was a committed writer and lover of nature who consistently supported the women writer population. She also worked tirelessly to advocate social justice and animal rights.

Fans cannot wait for Game of Thrones to start its fourth season on April 6, but luckily HBO plans to-slightly-ease the pain of waiting. Tomorrow night they’ll air a Game of Thrones 15-minute special that includes behind the scenes footage, a look-back at seasons 1-3, and some scenes from season 4. This special premieres right before a new episode of True Detective at 8:45pm ET.

Kaetlyn Osmond, the 18-year-old Canadian figure skating sweetheart, skated in her first Olympics event on Saturday at Sochi’s Iceberg Skating Palace.
Osmond, now a Sherwood Parks resident in Alberta, Canada, moved from Marystown, a province in Newfoundland and Labrador on the Burin Peninsula, eight years ago. However, that transition doesn’t stop Marystown residents from still claiming Kaetlyn as their own hometown girl.

Well to use Politician Speak, one might answer this question with,” What that question depends on entirely what you mean by an ‘approval rating.’” Although the ratings haven’t changed much since the recent State of the Union address- which is usually thought to be the main point of those things- the president has enjoyed an steady approval rate no lower than 40 since September 2013. Now currently sitting at a comfortable 48 percent/50 percent this week, it looks as if the country is relatively pleased with the president.
